John Legend has said that Kanye West is serious about running for president.
The singer has had his political differences with Kanye and the rapper even revealed private messages from John on Twitter in April.
The 39-year-old told Kanye he was “too powerful and influential” to be involved with Donald Trump.

The rapper stated his interest in running for president at the 2015 MTV VMAs and recently revealed that he plans to run in 2024.
In an interview on The Dan Wootton Interview podcast, John said that Kanye isn’t joking around: “He’s said it multiple times. Yeah, I think he’s serious.”
“I’d guess he’d run as an independent, but he’s never told me anything about what party he would run from. But he’s said multiple times that he’s interested in running for president,” the singer continued.
The father-of-two stated that he thinks Kanye sees part of himself in President Trump.
“I think that’s part of why he likes Trump is because I think he sees some aspects of himself in Trump and sees that Trump winning makes it feel like he could do it too,” he said.
Kanye originally stated that he wanted to run for president in 2020, but recently changed his mind and is set on campaigning in 2024.
