Evan Peters has revealed that he will not return for the upcoming season of American Horror Story.
The actor has starred in the programme since it began in 2011, but is taking a break from the show for its ninth season.
Speaking to Extra at WonderCon, the 32-year-old revealed that he will “sit a season out”.
Many fans were not happy about the news, as one tweeted: “So apparently @Evan_Peters isn’t gonna be in the next season of @AHSFX SOOOO guess I’m not gonna watch it”.
“If Evan Peters is sitting out the next season of AHS then so am I,” another wrote.
Last year the actor admitted that playing such dark characters was “mentally draining” and while fans are sad about his departure, they have also showed their support for his decision.
“I’m glad you’re taking a break from AHS @Evan_Peters You need and deserve one. I hope you have a great day,” a fan tweeted.
So apparently @Evan_Peters isn’t gonna be in the next season of @AHSFX SOOOO guess I’m not gonna watch it???????? like he’s the star of the show next to Sarah Paulson! Like w/o them AHS wouldn’t be good.
