Ben Affleck has admitted that he was aware of Harvey Weinstein’s sleazy and indecent behavior.
Ben, 45, found himself on the receiving end of a grilling by the Late Show host, Stephen Colbert, when he was asked did he know about Harvey Weinstein’s inappropriate behavior towards women.
The Batman star began by confirming with Stephen that the show was meant to be a comedy show.
“This is a comedy show, correct?”
However, Ben didn’t shy away from any question he was asked.
“It was awful to see the extent of these terrible crimes. I haven’t worked with Harvey for more than 20 or 15 years,” Ben told Stephen.
The Pearl Harbour actor also commented on the effect the Weinstein scandal has had on the industry describing it as ‘tainted’.
Ben also mentioned how he would be donating his residuals from Miramax movies to charities that benefit women saying that “I don’t want to cash a check from the guy”.
The Late show host also brought up Ben’s recent twitter apology to Hilarie Burton as he was accused of touching her inappropriately.
I acted inappropriately toward Ms. Burton and I sincerely apologize

“What I was accused of by a woman was of touching her breast while giving her a hug. I don’t remember it, but I absolutely apologized for it. I certainly don’t think she’s lying or making it up,” Ben said.
