Pregnant Ferne McCann breaks down on This Morning after ex-boyfriend’s arrest

Pregnant Ferne McCann broke down on This Morning, after revealing her unborn child has given her “strength” amid her ex-boyfriend’s involvement in a shocking acid attack scandal.

The former TOWIE star gave her first interview since confirming she is pregnant with ex-boyfriend, Arthur Collins’, child.

Host Holly Willoughby comforted the sobbing reality star as out for the first time since Arthur was charged with 14 counts of wounding with intent to do grievous bodily harm and one count of throwing corrosive fluid on a person with intent to cause GBH.

In the interview, Ferne distanced herself even further from the acid attack scandal by confirming that she’s facing life as a single mum.

“It has been such a stressful, surreal situation to be in that. I’m actually feeling good and positive because I’m pregnant that has given me strength and hope to get through this.”

“This isn’t how I imagined my first pregnancy to be, but it’s not about me, it’s about this baby. My main concern and priority is the baby.”

Speaking about the support she has received from the public, Ferne broke down in tears, which prompted Holly to go over and give her a hug.

“The public have been so amazing, so supportive, and that’s what’s got me through.

“Reading through my private messages has been so touching, so humbling… sorry, I can’t. That’s what I’m so grateful for. From single mums and dads to people who have never even seen me on TV… I have to get this out. Everyone has been amazing.”

“I’m just so looking forward to it – I can’t wait to meet my baby. It’s not going to be easy but I’m going to be the best possible mum I can be.”

Ferne confirmed her pregnancy on April 25, after ex Arthur Collins was arrested in connection with an acid attack at a London nightclub on Easter Monday.

In a statement to Mirror Celebs at the time, her spokesperson said, “Ferne is grateful for the sympathetic way news of her pregnancy has been covered and people’s support and obviously her first concern is for her child’s health.”

Following his arrest on April 23, Arthur was charged with 14 counts of wounding with intent to do grievous bodily harm and one count of throwing corrosive fluid on a person with intent to cause GBH. He’s since been remanded in custody until a hearing on May 22.
