Holly Willoughby’s huge pay rise has been revealed, ahead of her return to This Morning.
According to a new report, the presenter is expected to get a £300k increase on her current £700,000 salary.
It comes after MailOnline revealed the 42-year-old will co-host the ITV show alongside Alison Hammond when she returns from her summer break.
A source told The Sun On Sunday: “Holly is at the heart of the show’s future and success and ITV execs want her to steer a steady ship out of a rocky year. It’ll be a strong start with Alison, kicking off as a dream team.”
“Holly’s pay deal is up for negotiation in a few months so they are -putting together a lucrative package that will reflect her added responsibility without Phil[lip Schofield], and they are prepared to go up to £1million a year.”
It is understood Holly will co-present This Morning with a rotation of hosts in the coming months – including Steve Jones, Josie Gibson, Alison Hammond, Dermot O’Leary and Craig Doyle.
This Morning was plunged into chaos earlier this year, when it was revealed that Holly’s co-host and former close friend Phillip Schofield had an affair with a younger male colleague.
Phillip quit the show AND ITV as a result of the scandal, which Holly later addressed in an emotional speech.
Addressing viewers, she said: “Firstly, are you ok? I hope so. It’s very strange indeed sitting here without Phil. I imagine that you might have been feeling a lot like I have. Shaken, troubled, let down, worried for the wellbeing of people on all sides of what’s been going on, and full of questions.”
“You, me, and all of us at This Morning gave our love and support to someone who was not telling the truth. Who acted in a way that they themselves felt that they had to resign from ITV and step down from a career that they loved. That is a lot to process.”
