Coleen Rooney has paid tribute to her little sister Rosie, six years after her death.

Rosie tragically passed away back in 2013, following a lifelong battle with Rett syndrome, which primarily affects girls.

Taking to Instagram six years later, Coleen shared a photo of Rosie alongside the caption, “Forever in our thoughts. Love you Rosie. #6Years.”

The same photo was shared by Coleen’s footballer husband Wayne, who she’s been married to since 2008.

Rett syndrome is a rare genetic neurological and developmental disorder that affects the way the brain develops, causing a progressive loss of motor skills and speech.

Coleen and her family were on holiday in Barbados back in January 2013, when Rosie’s health started to deteriorate rapidly.

Thankfully they were able to cut their trip short, and flew home to spend their final days with Rosie.

At the time, Coleen said, “So glad we ended our holiday short, due to her deteriorating & we was able to spend the last few days together with her an our family! Sleep tight Rosie Mc x. We love you more than words can say x.”
