Caroline Flack’s mother claims her daughter’s relationship with Lewis Burton ‘ended her life’

Christine Flack has claimed that her daughter Caroline’s relationship with Lewis Burton “ended her life”.

On February 15, Caroline was found dead at her flat in London, months after she was arrested for allegedly assaulting Lewis.

Her mother took to the comment section of a post on Caroline’s Instagram account of her and Lewis sunbathing together in August 2019, where she wrote: “This relationship did end her life” before adding, “Want this deleted so much”.

In another post on Caroline’s Instagram of her and Lewis at Winter Wonderland last year, taken just weeks before her tragic death, Christine wrote: “He is now in the same pose different girl”.

The news comes just days after Lewis confirmed his romance with Louis Tomlinson’s sister Lottie – six months after Caroline’s death.

The couple recently denied reports that they’re dating, but they’ve since been papped kissing in Ibiza.

In photos published by the MailOnline, Lewis and Lottie appeared tense before he pulled her in for a kiss and squeezed her bottom.

Sources have claimed the couple bonded over their grief, after meeting at a house party hosted by Caroline’s close friend Lou Teasdale back in May.

Lewis lost Caroline in February, and Lottie has had to deal with the death of her sister and mother within the space of three years.

Lottie’s 18-year-old sister Félicité died following an accidental drug overdose last year, less than three years after she lost her mother Johannah to cancer.

A source told MailOnline: “Lewis and Lottie have grown close after spending time together at a party at Lou’s house.”

“They have been meeting up in secret for weeks but their newfound friendship hasn’t gone unnoticed by mutual pals.”

“Not all of Caroline’s friends are happy with how the situation appears to be developing but can understand that both Lottie and Lewis have been there for each other as a shoulder to cry on.”

Following a recent inquest into Caroline’s death, a coroner ruled that the presenter took her own life after she was told she would face trial for the alleged assault – despite the fact that Lewis didn’t want to press charges.

After Caroline’s death hit headlines, the presenter’s management slammed the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) for pursuing the ‘show trial’, knowing how vulnerable she was.

During the inquest, Christine once again slammed the CPS for pursuing the trial.

In a written statement, she said: “I believe Caroline was seriously let down by the authorities and in particular the CPS (Crown Prosecution Service) for pursuing the case.”

“I believe this was a show trial. I feel the prosecutor was unkind to Caroline and my family. I was threatened with arrest when I tried to speak.”
