The presenter took the year off the recover

Ant McPartlin has returned to work for the first time with Declan Donnelly, after he was arrested for drink driving earlier this year.

After pleading guilty in court back in April, the popular TV presenter received a driving ban and an £86,000 fine.

The scandal caused Ant to return to rehab, and the 43-year-old took the rest of the year off to focus on his health.

However, Ant has since reunited with his telly partner Dec and the pair recently went to see a recording of Replay 2018, which their production company made.

A source told The Mirror: “Getting back to work has been brilliant for him and seeing Dec was a real boost. He’s ready to move into 2019 now and put the past behind him.”

“Ant and Dec’s production company makes the show so they went for a night out to watch it being filmed. Ant was in high spirits and seemed to love being back in a working environment. It was great to see them back together again. They haven’t lost their sparkle.”

Yesterday, Ant delighted fans when he tweeted for the first time in over a month.

He wrote: “***exciting show alert*** Tonight ITV 9pm Re-Play 2018 with Richard Osman. Play along and see if you’ve been paying attention to 2018. Enjoy!A”.

The tweet sparked tonnes of well wishes, as fans said they couldn’t wait to see Ant back on screens for Britain’s Got Talent in the New Year.
