Summer Love Island 2023 couple Catherine Agbaje and Elom Ahlijah-Wilson are said to have “secretly split”.
The couple struck up a romance during Casa Amor, leaving Scott van-der-Sluis single when they returned to the main villa.
Unfortunately, Catherine and Elom were shockingly dumped from the villa on day 44, after being voted the least compatible couple.
A source has since told The UK Sun: “The pair struggled to make it work in the real world and barely saw each other since the show ended.”
“They kept up a bit of a pretence, while they did the podcast circuit, but everyone knew it was over before it even really started.”
“Catherine’s sister made no secret about her feelings towards Elom so it’s no surprise she cooled things off straight away.”
It comes just days after Elom revealed he didn’t want a girlfriend.
During their joint appearance on the Reality with Will Njobvu podcast, Elom was asked: “Do you feel like right now in your life you’re genuinely looking for a relationship?”
Hesitating, the Love Island star queried: “Right now am I genuinely looking for a relationship? Do you know what it is, like -”
As host Will began to laugh, Catherine interjected: “That’s a no!”
Explaining himself, Elom said: “Currently, I want to focus on myself -,” before Catherine once again interrupted: “He’s digging himself a hole, isn’t he? He’s digging himself a hole.”
Elom continued: “Coming out of the villa, there’s obviously a lot of limelight on both of us, and we both need to focus on ourselves.”
“So, I feel like if we both focus on ourselves, in due time, if we’re still talking to each other, we’re still bonding at the same time, in due time, we’re gonna get to that stage.”
Will then asked: “Catherine, do you want a man who’s ready for you?,” to which she instantly responded: “Yeah.”
“Obviously, I went on to Love Island because I do feel like I’m ready for a relationship. I’m ready to settle. I don’t want to build someone…”
