Will Selena Gomez play Meghan Markle in years to come on Netflix’s The Crown? The cast certainly seem to think she’d be a great fit.
The Crown, which stars Matt Smith and Claire Foy, has a gathered a huge fan following as it follows the historical story line of the Royal Family.
The first two seasons are set in the 1950s and 1960s, and seasons three and four are set to feature new actors and fast forward a bit more in time. It is expected that the show will eventually catch up to the present.
And with Meghan Markle and Prince Harry announcing their engagement last week, the cast gave their opinion on who should play the happy couple.
Matt and Claire were on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, and were asked what they thought of the newly engaged couple.
“That’s a good question!” Matt said.
“We love it that they’re getting married. It’s amazing. She’s an actress so that’s great,” Claire beamed.
“The thing is, they’re so young aren’t they? And that’s probably not going to be for another five years, so we’ll have to choose somebody who’s 11 or 12,” Claire added.
However, Matt was quick to suggest starlet Selena Gomez as a suitable actress for the role.
“You love Selena Gomez,” Claire joked to Matt.
