The second last episode of Love Island aired last night, and it was very eventful.
The final couples were surprised with a visit from members of their family, which made for emotional viewing as the Islanders were reunited with their parents and siblings.
Viewers of the show, however, were particularly fascinated by Wes Nelson’s mother, who looks practically identical to Coronation Street’s Gail Platt, who is played by Helen Worth.
Looking at them side by side, it’s hard not to see the comparisons between Wes’ mum and the popular Corrie character.
Fans took to Twitter to share their amusement with the resemblance, with one writing, “Cant believe Wes’ mum is actually Gail from Corrie #loveisland”.
While another tweeted “Gail Platt turns up at the villa! #loveisland”.

Megan and Wes, who have been coupled for the past few weeks on the hit reality show, finally met each other’s parents on last night’s episode.
The final episode of Love Island will air tonight at 9pm on 3e.
