Home and Away star Johnny Ruffo dies aged 35

Home and Away star Johnny Ruffo has sadly passed away at the age of 35.

The actor, who played Chris Harrington on the Australian soap from 2013 to 2016, died on November 9th following a long battle with a rare brain cancer.

His death was confirmed in a post shared on his Instagram page, where he updated his 270k followers on his cancer journey.

The post read: “It is with a heavy heart that today we had to farewell our beloved Johnny.

“Surrounded by his partner Tahnee and family, Johnny went peacefully with the support of some incredible Nurses & Doctors.

“He was a very talented, charming and sometimes cheeky boy. Johnny was very determined and had a strong will. He battled all the way to the end and fought as hard as he could. Such a beautiful soul with so much more to give.

“We all love you Johnny and will remember you for all the joy you brought to our lives. Rest easy ❤️,” the post concluded.

Johnny shot to fame in Australia when he appeared on The X Factor in 2011.

The following year, he won their version of Dancing With the Stars before he was cast in Home and Away.

The actor also appeared in the TV miniseries House of Bond in 2017, and Neighbours in 2020.
