RTE star Angela Scanlon dreamed of becoming a successful lawyer when she was a teenager – but her mother talked her out of it.
The fashion stylist, who was recently confirmed as the new  digital presenter of The Voice UK, admitted becoming a TV presenter was not always on the cards.
“I wanted to be a lawyer and my mum thought, I really don’t think this is for you,” Angela said.
Not for you: Angela’s mum made her realise law wasn’t for her
“She very kindly brought me into the High Courts one day and I realised after I fell asleep half way through that Ally McBeal was no longer my role model.
Now the stylist is now working closely with the A-list judges on the series and revealed they have all been lovely to her.
“Tom Jones has such a presence and a really good tan” she told 2FM.
“Obviously he’s a different era, so obviously a lot of people would think what’s his relevance, you know the younger generation. It’s amazing how much respect he commands from all of the other coaches and the contest.”
