Ryan Tubridy teases ‘really exciting’ Late Late Show Eurovision Special

Ryan Tubridy has teased a “really exciting” Late Late Show Eurovision Special.

On Friday night, Ireland’s six Eurovision hopefuls will take to the stage to perform live, vying for the chance to represent the nation at the Eurovision Song Contest in May.

For the first time in several years, viewers at home will have the opportunity to cast their vote for their favourite song and help decide who will fly the Irish flag at Eurovision.

The winner of Friday night’s Eurosong will then perform at the Eurovision Song Contest in Italy, in front of an audience of 180 million people around the world.

The winner will be chosen by combined votes awarded by a public vote, an international jury and a studio jury.

Speaking ahead of Friday night’s show, host Ryan Tubridy said: “We’re doing something we’ve wanted to do for a long time, which is to bring the Eurovision National Song Contest back into the hands of the people of Ireland.”

“It’s actually something really exciting and if I wasn’t here, I’d be watching it at home and getting involved like everyone else.”
