Maura Higgins has landed a major role on Love Island USA.
The former Islander has been announced as the new host of Love Island USA Aftersun.
The Longford native previously hosted the behind-the-scenes of the US version of the UK show for social media.
Maura excitedly reposted an article from Deadline confirming her role as a talk show host and wrote: “The news is finally out.”
The TV personality also shared a picture from US customs at the airport as she arrived in the United States to begin filming.
Love Island US host Sarah Hyland shared her delight at the news and posted: “This makes me so so happy!!!”
Maura also shared how grateful she was for “each and every one of you for all your kind messages.”
The reality star shared a picture of her and a mystery man about to eat pasta and captioned it: “A day fuelling up on all my favourite foods in LA.”
“Thank you to each and every one of you for all your kind messages.”
“I’m super grateful for this role and can’t wait to get stuck in.”
According to Deadline, the talk show, which will air on Peacock, will serve as a companion series to Love Island USA Season 6.
The show is set to feature Maura interviewing the eliminated Islanders as they chat about their experiences inside the villa.
The show will also include an insight into some exclusive behind-the-scenes content.
Maura is no stranger to Love Island after she found fame on the UK show as a contestant on Season 5, entering the villa on Day 10 as a bombshell.
Maura finished in fourth place with her partner Curtis Pritchard and their relationship lasted for eight months before they announced their breakup in March 2020.
“Curtis and I have made the decision to separate,” Maura shared on her Instagram story at that time.
She added: “We enjoyed a great experience from our time in the villa and want to thank everyone for supporting our relationship.”
“There is no easy way to get through a breakup and no bad feeling on either side. We tried to make it work, but it wasn’t to be and I wish Curtis nothing but the best for the future.”
