Mamma Mia’s Christine Baranski unveils statue made of waste in Donegal

Mamma Mia’s Christine Baranski has unveiled a statue made out of waste in Donegal.

The actress spent her weekend in Ireland as she revealed the environmental sculpture.

The sculpture was constructed by artist, Niamh McCann, to highlight the issues surrounding waste on beaches on Ireland.

Two community groups in Donegal joined together to clear up beaches during the summer and recycled the rubbish to create the statue.

The Hollywood actress reportedly bought a home in the Donegal town of Lettermacaward this year.

As she spoke at the unveiling, the Mamma Mia! star told the audience that she is passionate about looking after the environment: “What a wonderful example for towns everywhere in the world. Every community has to do its part.”

“I am very active environmentally in the United States and there is no more compelling issue in the world than the environmental issue,” she said.
