Makeup artist working on Sally Rooney series receives incredible gift from Joe Alwyn

A makeup artist working on the TV adaptation of Sally Rooney’s novel Conversations With Friends has received an incredible gift from Joe Alwyn.

Maria Moore did his makeup for the upcoming series, which started shooting in Belfast back in April.

The English actor, who has been dating Taylor Swift since 2016, recently wrapped filming the show – but before he left he gifted Maria a Gucci handbag worth €1,950.

The makeup artist was overwhelmed by Joe’s kind gesture, and shared a photo of the bag on her Instagram Story.

She captioned the post: “So this happened… thank you so much to my amazing actor Joe Alwyn for the most incredible leaving present ever… like ever ever.”

In another post, Maria also confirmed that she got to meet Joe’s girlfriend Taylor Swift, who attended the Conversations With Friends wrap party in Belfast earlier this month.

Sharing a selfie with the pop singer, she wrote: “And for those asking yes I did meet Taylor Swift what an incredible, smart and inspirational lady, she is soooo lovely.”

Conversations With Friends will air on BBC and RTÉ next year.

The series will follow Frances (Alison Oliver), a 21-year-old college student as she navigates a series of relationships that force her to confront her own vulnerabilities for the first time.

Frances is observant, cerebral and sharp. Her ex-girlfriend, now best friend, Bobbi (Sasha Lane) is self-assured, outspoken and compelling. Though they broke up three years ago, Frances and Bobbi are virtually inseparable and perform spoken word poetry together in Dublin.

It’s at one of their shows that they meet Melissa (Jemima Kirke), an older writer, who is fascinated by the pair.

Bobbi and Frances start to spend time with Melissa and her husband, Nick (Joe Alwyn), a handsome but reserved actor.

While Melissa and Bobbi flirt with each other openly, Nick and Frances embark on an intense, secret affair that is surprising to them both.

Soon the affair begins to test the bond between Frances and Bobbi, forcing Frances to reconsider her sense of self, and the friendship she holds so dear.
