Mairead Farrell reveals: 'I'll take my new husband's name when I wed'

Mairead Farrell has revealed she plans on taking her partner’s last name after they get hitched this week.

The radio star will change her name to Mairead Ronan after she ties the knot with businessman boyfriend Louis Ronan this Friday.

The Today FM star also admitted she will go by her new name at work, despite having become known by her maiden name.

“I’m going to change it. I can’t be two people,” she said.

Mairead has remained tight lipped over the location of the big day, however it will take place somewhere in Louis’ native Tipperary.

Meanwhile, the radio producer isn’t worried about the weather on the day of the wedding, because it will be “sunny” in her head no matter what.

“It doesn’t matter if it’s a storm – I’m marrying the man of my dreams so it’ll be sunny in my head,” she told The Herald.

The 35-year-old previously revealed that her eight-year-son Dara will act as best man for the nuptials and has even written his own speech.
