Joanne McNally reveals she ‘doesn’t believe’ in marriage as she opens up about her relationship with boyfriend Alan Byrne

Joanne McNally revealed that she thinks she “doesn’t believe” in marriage, after she opened up about her relationship with her boyfriend, Alan Byrne, on The Late Late Show.

During Friday night’s broadcast, the iconic comedian chatted to Patrick Kielty, about her recent success of her live shows of the My Therapist Ghosted Me podcast, alongside Vogue Williams and gave some insight into her personal life.

The podcaster then shared her thoughts on marriage as host Patrick, posed the question of whether we may see a ring on THAT finger, this Christmas.

Patrick asked the star: “And Christmas is coming up, I mean is there..”, while he pointed to his ring finger.

The comedian quickly shot down the presenter and said: “No! I actually don’t think I believe in marriage.”

“I think I’ve kind of out grown it now.”

“Yeah, I think forty is like… you’ve either done it now or what’s the point, do you know what I mean?”

The star also opened up about moving into her new apartment.

When asked by Patrick if her boyfriend helped her move in, Joanne admitted: “He didn’t really.”

“Well he tried to help me, but he’s as bad as I am.”

She continued: “He fell asleep…basically he came over and fell asleep in the middle of 68 boxes, he was no use to me at all.”

Joanne started dating Alan Byrne last year, after they matched on celebrity dating app Raya.

The couple made their romance Instagram official in June 2022.

Alan has been well-known on the Dublin social scene for years, having worked as a model and DJ.
