Emma Waldron doesn't want a relationship as she works on becoming a business queen

Former Miss Ireland Emma Waldron has revealed she doesn’t want a relationship as she becomes a business woman.

The Kildare model is working on setting up a new online venture which she hopes could be a major worldwide success.

And Emma says that she has no plans for a new man – after her relationship with Manners, which ended before her move America.

She said: “I had never really dated in Ireland because I was in a relationship for four years, so I entered the dating scene in New York cautiously.

“I am not taking it too seriously and do not want a relationship at the moment because I am concentrating on myself, making a home and making friends and building a career.

“I know it’s a cliche but my my career is the number one priority. I have given up a lot to be there. I gave up a really good teaching job. It’s a risk and I have to make it work.

“But I have had some great experiences over there and have met some really lovely, successful, outgoing men. I have had some great dates.”

But Emma, who has been living in New York, found it a culture shock how men pounced on her in America.

“At first I did not know if I was going or coming but I have made some really close friends from the men I have met. They guys in New York are really handsome, just like the girls.

“When they like you they are more vocal about it than in Ireland. Men here almost feel afraid to say anything to women. Their culture is different.

“They see nothing wrong with telling a woman she is beautiful and then walking off. They approach you in the street and ask you for a drink, ask you for your number or ask you for a date. It was a culture shock at the start.”
