Ed Sheeran may be heading to Dundalk for the match against BATE Borisov

Ed Sheeran is set to take to the stage at Croke Park this weekend – however Irish fans might catch him in a stadium sooner than that.

The Thinking Out Loud singer is reportedly heading to Oriel Park tonight to watch the sold out Dundalk match against BATE Borisov.

The 24-year-old will be watching the UEFA Champions League clash after asking if he could have two tickets for the game.

A source joked that if Ed was to get the highly sought-after tickets, he’d have to don a Dundalk jersey at some stage during his weekend gigs.

“An official from Dundalk said [Ed’s] manager had been in touch asking for two tickets,” they said.

“There was a suggestion that they were going to ask him to put on a Dundalk FC Jersey.”

“Ed’s been pictured in an Ireland jersey before during a gig, so I think they just thought they’d chance it,” they told The Mirror.

“But they would certainly be very happy to have him cheer on the team in the clash.”

A spokesperson from Dundalk FC has refused to comment on whether Ed will be in the crowd at the game.
