Dermot Bannon has admitted he’s eager to return to work – as he has “no money left” to finish his dream home.

The celebrity architect revealed that while he enjoyed the time off during the pandemic to spend time with him family, he was eager to start earning again.

Speaking to the RTÉ Guide, Dermot said: “We had no money left, so we didn’t get any of the planned features in the garden done. That’s why I need to go back to work.”

“I’ve done Room To Improve for the last 13 years and it’s been like this rolling machine that as soon you finish one, you start back into a new series,” he said.

“Or sometimes you’ll have some that never got finished and you’re still on them. It just never ended and for the first time ever I got a three-month break and now I’m really keen to get back to it.”

On the perks of the time off, Dermot added: “I had time to sit and enjoy it [house] and it was great.”

Dermot will front season three of Incredible Homes – which will follow him as he visits stunning properties across Ireland.

The series usually features houses from across the world, but due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, the upcoming episodes will focus on Ireland’s Incredible Homes.

The show will air on RTÉ One on Sunday, October 18 at 9.30pm.
