Anna Geary has opened up about the “overwhelming” feeling she had on her first weekend on her new radio show on Today FM.

The sports star expressed her relatable feelings of impostor syndrome as she finished her first day on air.

Anna was announced as the co-host of new show Pumped Up Kicks with Declan Pierce in the Today FM schedule announcements earlier this month.

“Today was a very busy day, and a little bit overwhelming in the lead up to it,” she told her 65k Instagram followers.

“Radio is what I’ve wanted to do forever and to get the chance today, suddenly you panic and think ‘crap, what if I’ve finally got that chance and I’m no good.'”

“Obviously I’ve had a lot of opportunities, radio opportunities over the years, but this is national radio with your name over the door, and you’re going into it not quite knowing what to expect.”

“There is only so much you can do to prepare for live radio.”

However, Anna had nothing to worry about, with her first show receiving high praise on social media. “You were great… loved the show!!” wrote one fan.

“Really great show guys! That’s Saturday afternoons sorted” said another.

Anna also gave huge praise for the team at Today FM for their support during her first show.

Pumped Up Kicks can be found every Saturday at 2pm on TodayFM.

On this week’s Gosscast Goss.ie Founder Ali Ryan talks to Lisa Cannon about her best and worst celeb interviews and the reality of working in showbiz.
