A source told People that the R&B star scheduled it so he could be by her side.

Though Selena has not revealed the exact date of her surgery, The Weeknd had some breaks in his tour schedule this summer.
He was initially announced as a performer for the 2017 MTV VMAs on August 27, but he did not appear, making fans speculate it was so he could spend more time with the singer.
The 25-year-old, who has been laying low over the past few months, has suffered from lupus since 2015 – and her condition led her to undergo major surgery in recent months.
Taking to Instagram, Selena told fans about her surgery – and revealed that her best friend and fellow actress Francia Raisa was her donor.
