The actor recently responded to fans who were lusting over his stalker character, Joe Goldberg, in the hit Netflix show, as he revealed his confusion over why people liked Joe so much.
The former Gossip Girl star shared a video on Instagram after he hit one million followers and said: “Hey, good morning from Manila. I wake up to find…I never thought I’d see the day..I wake up to find I have a million followers”.
The 32-year-old pretended to get emotional about his new Instagram milestone, but finished by saying: “I don’t know what to say because all it took was for me to start murdering people. Y’all get the f**k out of here!”
While Penn played the part of popular character, Dan Humphries, in Gossip Girl, the actor has received a lot of attention in recent weeks since the release of You.
