Tiffany Haddish has been sued by her ex-husband.
William Stewart has claimed that the actress has lied in her autobiography. She wrote a chapter about him in her book The Last Black Unicorn titled The Ex-Husband.
While she doesn’t mention him by name, she has only been married once so he is easily identifiable. TMZ obtained details of the his lawsuit against her in which he wishes to defend allegations of choking, kidnapping and stalking during their 5-year marriage.
There’s further confusion arising from the book with Tiffany claiming he is to blame for the loss of her child, while Stewart maintains that she went to the doctor for an abortion.
He is seeking over $1million in damages for libel, slander and defamation. The book’s publishers are also coming under fire being included in the lawsuit.
His lawyer Michael Sterling told TMZ, “For the defendants’ own profit, they painted my clients as abusers in a best-selling book. After a thorough review of the facts and evidence, we know that the assertions made by the defendants about my clients in “The Last Black Unicorn” are patently untrue.”
“Powerful people and influential corporations can’t intentionally and recklessly destroy someone’s reputation with malicious lies for their own profit. After exhausting our ability to solve this matter privately, we have been left with no choice, but to seek legal recourse. We look forward to our day in court,” he finished.
