Michael B. Jordan ran into a former classmate who used to “tease” him at a screening of his latest film Creed III.
The actor will reprise his role as Adonis Creed in the third installment of the popular franchise, which hits cinemas across the country on March 3.
The Morning Hustle host Lore’l approached the 36-year-old for an interview on the red carpet, and he called her out for a comment she made on a podcast.
Lore’l said she and Michael went “all the way back to Chad Science [Academy] in Newark”, and the Hollywood heartthrob replied: “Oh yeah, I was the corny kid, right?”
His comment referenced a 2021 episode of The Undressing Room podcast, in which Lore’l and podcast hosts Eva Marcille and Dominique da Diva spoke about Michael’s then relationship with model Lori Harvey.
Lore’l described Michael as a “nice, corny guy”, and said they used to tease the actor because he shares the same name as NBA legend Michael Jordan.
She said: “We went to Chad Science [Academy] together in Newark, and to be honest with you, we teased him all the damn time because his name was Michael Jordan. Let’s start there, and he was no Michael Jordan.”

“And he also would come to school with a headshot. We lived in Newark. That’s the ‘hood. We would make fun of him like, ‘What you gonna do with your stupid headshot!?’ And now look at him!”
Responding to Michael calling her out on the red carpet, Lore’l insisted she was “misquoted”, adding: “But yeah, [you are] obviously killing things out here.”
Tessa Thompson, Jonathan Majors, Wood Harris, Florian Munteanu, Mila Kent, and Phylicia Rashad will also star in Creed III, which marks Michael’s directorial debut.
