Liam Hemsworth has spoken out publicly for the first time since his split from wife Miley Cyrus.
Taking to Instagram, the actor posted a picture of a stunning Australian sunset, and wrote:
“Hi all. Just a quick note to say that Miley and I have recently separated and I wish her nothing but health and happiness going forward.”
“This is a private matter and I have not made, nor will I be making, any comments to any journalists or media outlets.”
“Any reported quotes attributed to me are false. Peace and Love.”
It was reported by The Daily Mail Australia yesterday that Liam commented to press during a trip into the town of Byron Bay, New South Wales, Australia.
“You don’t understand what it’s like,” Liam allegedly told Daily Mail Australia yesterday when asked about the split.
Liam was papped in Byron Bay with brother Chris Hemsworth, with Liam currently staying with Chris at his Aussie beach house.
Last week, Miley’s spokesperson released a statement to inform the world that the couple have gone their separate ways.
“Liam and Miley have agreed to separate at this time. Ever-evolving, changing as partners and individuals, they have decided this is what’s best while they both focus on themselves and careers.”
“They still remain dedicated parents to all of their animals they share while lovingly taking this time apart.”
Liam’s comment comes after Miley was seen kissing Kaitlynn Jenner in Lake Como, Italy.
