Kim Kardashian West and her assistant Stephanie Shepherd have gone their separate ways.
A source close to the Kardashian family told PEOPLE Magazine that Kim professionally parted ways with her assistant and friend of 4 years.
Stephanie has been the reality star’s assistant since 2013 but the source told PEOPLE, “she and Kim aren’t really speaking.”
“Kim made a decision to let Stephanie go,” the insider said to PEOPLE Magazine. “She was a good assistant but when Stephanie wanted to transition into a larger role with Kim’s brand and businesses, it just didn’t work.
“Kim gave her the chance but after a short period of time it became clear that Stephanie just didn’t have the knowledge to take on a role like that. Kim made an executive decision to part ways.”
The source added: “She’s still friendly with the other sisters but she and Kim aren’t really speaking.”
In a recent episode of KUWTK Kim spoke about her sister Kourtney’s close relationship with her assistant Stephanie.
“Do you find it weird that you’re like ‘wifey’ with my assistant?”
“Kind of,” Kim responded. “What if all of a sudden I became BFF with Megan? I think you would definitely be like, ‘That’s weird.’ ”
Kourtney also revealed that Stephanie revealed some opinions she had about her role as Kim’s assistant.
“Just a heads up, we were talking and she was saying that she didn’t know what she wanted to do in life,” the eldest Kardashian sister shared.
“She feels, like, maybe she’s in a place in life where she’s unfulfilled, job-wise.”
She added: “I feel like she’s just looking to, like, evolve.”
