Britney Spears admits she has ‘a lot of healing to do’ after her father is removed as her conservator

Britney Spears has admitted she has “a lot of healing to do”, after her father Jamie was officially removed as her conservator.

Earlier this week, the 69-year-old was suspended from the singer’s conservatorship, 13 years after it was established.

Taking to Instagram on Saturday night, Britney posted a photo of a tree alongside the caption: “Although there is change and things to celebrate in my life, I still have a lot of healing to do!!!”

“Thankfully I have a good support system and am taking time to understand it’s ok to slow down and breathe,” she continued.

“Only through self love I can pray … love … and support others in return!!!!”

During Wednesday’s court hearing, Britney’s lawyer Mathew Rosengart branded her father “a cruel, toxic, abusive man”.

He said in court: “Britney deserves to wake up tomorrow without her father as her conservator. She wants him out of her life today rather than a lingering and toxic presence.”

Jamie’s lawyer Vivian Thoreen fought against his suspension, and instead called for her conservatorship to be terminated.

But Britney’s attorney argued that a termination of the conservatorship would protect her father from future investigations into his conduct over the past 13 years.

Shortly after Jamie was officially suspended from her conservatorship, Britney posted a fitting message on Instagram about being on “cloud nine”.

Sharing a video of herself flying a plane over a tropical island, the 39-year-old wrote: “On cloud 9 right now 🤩☁️✈️ !!!!”

“Stay classy beautiful people !!!! New pics coming soon 📷😉✨ !!!!”

Britney’s comment section was inundated with sweet messages from her fans.

One fan wrote: “This is your moment brit! Live your life, U ARE FREE!”

Another commented: “HAVE NEVER BEEN HAPPIER FOR ANYONE!!!”

Britney officially filed a petition to replace her father Jamie as the conservator of her estate in July.

According to court documents obtained by E! News, Britney’s estate is worth $57.4 million – which includes $2.7 million in cash assets, and $54.7 million in non-cash assets.

The 39-year-old was placed under a conservatorship after she suffered an alleged breakdown in 2008.

A conservatorship is granted to those who are incapable of making decisions, such as people with mental disabilities.

The arrangement put her estate, financial assets, and some personal assets under the control of her father Jamie, and lawyer Andrew Wallet – who has since resigned from the role.

The pop star’s conservatorship has been under review since 2019 after she accused her father of forcing her to enter a mental health facility.
