In a long year of celebrity splits and divorces, another Hollywood couple have called it quits.
Paramore singer Hayley Williams and her husband Chad Gilbert have ended their marriage after just 16 months.
In a statement, the couple said they won’t be further commenting on their sad news.
“We want to publicly state – plainly, and only this time – that we are splitting up,” the pair wrote in an Instagram post.
“We also feel it’s important to state that we are going to be okay and in fact, we remain close friends who are good in each other’s eyes. That’s something we are deeply thankful for.
“Even though situations like these can feel defeating. We will continue to encourage and support each other personally and professionally,” they added.
“Hopefully you’ll understand that the personal aspects of what we are going through are not for anyone else to carry. Only us.
“To allow people any further into this moment in our lives would be to dishonour our history together and out ability to move forward with integrity,” they added.
The couple got engaged in 2014 and in total have been together close to 10 years.
