Peter Andre has admitted that he is gutted Daniel O’Donnell has been axed from Strictly Come Dancing.
The Australian singer is still competing on the BBC show and revealed that he loved the Irish crooner.
“Let me tell you Daniel, I was so close to. We even texted each other this morning actually. I have so much respect for Daniel,” he said.

“When he was down here I was texting him saying “Daniel I know you are down here on your own if you want to come over; see the kids, see the wife and we’ll make a home-cooked meal,” he told The Anton Savage Show on Today FM.
Peter also divulged that he really admired the Donegal native’s work ethic and his diligence to dance lessons.
“As appreciative as he was, he was so focused; he stayed in London and he worked and worked and worked,” he said.

“I’m so sad he’s gone and I actually absolutely love him so I sent him a picture yesterday of me with his greatest hits album.”
Peter also commented on Daniel’s dancing skills and admitted he thought the singer did “really, really well”.
“I thought he did really, really well, he nailed something. He said something that resonated with me on Saturday night and that was that he has been performing for many years and then all of a sudden a show like this has crippled him with nerves.”
