Zayn Malik has taken a brutal swipe at his ex Gigi Hadid, amid her romance with Bradley Cooper.
The former couple dated on-and-off for six years between 2015 and 2021, and share a 3-year-old daughter named Khai together.
Despite their lengthy romance, the former One Direction star has confessed he doesn’t think he’s ever “truly been in love”.
During a new interview on The Zach Sang Show, marking his long awaited return to the spotlight, Zayn admitted: “I don’t know if I’ve actually truly been in love at this point.”
The 31-year-old said he believes the definition of love changes with experience, and said: “You look back at it with new eyes and you’re like, ‘Well, maybe I wasn’t in love there.’
“Was it love or is it life experience that we are going through? Who knows. We’re just in situations where we look back at them with different eyes and it’s a completely different situation.”
Zayn’s last public relationship was with supermodel Gigi Hadid, 29, whom he shares daughter Khai with.
The former couple started dating in 2015, before calling it quits in 2018.
They briefly reconciled at the end of 2018, but split once again months later.
At the beginning of 2020, the couple confirmed they were back on, and announced they were expecting a baby together that April.
But just over a year after welcoming their daughter, their relationship came to a dramatic end when Gigi’s mother Yolanda Hadid accused Zayn of hitting her during an argument.
The British singer strongly denied her claims, and later pleaded no contest to her harassment charges against him.
Zayn’s comments about his love life come amid Gigi’s new relationship with Hollywood actor Bradley Cooper.
The romance between Gigi, 29, and Bradley, who is twenty years her senior, was first reported in early October.
A source told Entertainment Tonight that the couple had “known each other for a while” and had been “hanging out casually” before they debuted their relationship.
The couple have kept their relationship on the down low, apart from being papped together on multiple occasions.
Bradley shares his 6-year-old daughter Lea with his ex-girlfriend Irina Shayk.
The former couple split in 2019 after four years together.
Before her rumoured romance with Bradley, Gigi was previously linked to Oscar nominated actor, Leonardo Di Caprio.
