Anton’s mum Sherie Ann Danyluk has opened up about how difficult it was to watch her son Anton on Love Island.
The Scottish gym owner has been unlucky in love on show.
“Anton has gone from public enemy No1 to the sweetheart of the villa and his dad and I are so proud of him. I’m so glad people have got to see my boy in a true light,” Sherie Ann said.
“I don’t think people are used to someone who is so blatantly truthful about these types of things.”
“His compassionate behaviour towards the others has shown what a caring guy he is. He is beautiful inside and out.”
However, his mum expressed how difficult it was to see her son be rejected by female contestants in the villa.
“In the beginning, when he was getting rejected, I couldn’t bring myself to watch,” she said.
“I used to stay away from it as I was getting too emotionally drained but, now that I see he is standing his ground and people are starting to see him for who he is, I look forward to the show.”
Anton famously claimed in the Love Island villa that his mum regularly shaves his bum.
The statement has become a running joke throughout the show, and Anton was even teased about it on his date with Arabella Chi.
Now, his mum has gone on the record to address the jokes.
“It’s something I do every couple of weeks and it’s no big deal in our house,” Sherie Ann told The Daily Record.
“At the end of the day, I used to change his nappies so shaving his bum is nothing”
“What’s the difference in that and taking a bit of hair away from his backside?”
His mum went on to say that she is extremely close to her son, and that she doesn’t mind the task in the slightest.
“We are really close and it’s the least I can do for him.”
The catch-up episode of Love Island airs tonight at 9pm.
