Conor McGregor pays touching tribute to Cathal Pendred following UFC exit

Conor McGregor has paid tribute to fellow MMA fighter Cathal Pendred after he shockingly quit the UFC this week.

The UFC Interim Featherweight Champion, who is gearing up for his fight with José Aldo in Vegas on December 12, took the time to say only kind words about his pal.

The sports star took to his Facebook page to describe his “brother” Cathal as a “legend” – adding that the ex-welterweight contender deserves “endless respect.”

“A man who came from zero combat sports background and entered into the game at a time when there was ZERO UFC fighters signed from Ireland,” he wrote.

Meanwhile, earlier in the week the Dubliner arrived in LA ahead of his title fight in Las Vegas against José Aldo.

Goss.ie exclusively revealed Love/Hate’s Laurence Kinlan and Domhnall Gleeson are heading off to Vegas to cheer on Conor in his fight in MGM Grand Hotel.
