This star almost skipped the Oscars because it ‘felt wrong’ to attend after Bill Paxton’s death

Jennifer Aniston choked up as she paid tribute to Bill Paxton while introducing the In Memoriam segment at the Oscars on Sunday.

And the star’s death was felt by many – with Ginnifer Goodwin admitted she very nearly didn’t attend the ceremony because she was so upset.

Ginnifer starred in Big Love with the beloved actor from 2006 to 2011, and played one of his wives in the HBO show.

“It was hard to come here, it felt wrong to come and celebrate anything,” she told People on the Oscars red carpet.

However the actress, whose movie Zootopia won Best Animated Feature Film during the awards, said her husband Josh Dallas changed her mind.

“Josh reminded me that Bill loved all things Hollywood history and he would want you to be here,” Ginnifer added.

Bill, who was known for his roles in Aliens and Titanic among many others, passed away at the age of 61 on Saturday from a post-surgical stroke after having heart surgery.

When introducing the In Memoriam segment, Jennifer Aniston said, “Each and every one was a cherished member of our Hollywood family.

“As was beloved actor and friend who left us just yesterday – Bill Paxton. All were loved, and all will be missed.”
