Michael Bublé has opened up about his five-year-old son Noah’s heartbreaking battle with cancer.

The singer’s son, who was just three years old at the time, was diagnosed with liver cancer hepatoblastoma in October 2016.

Two years on, Michael has recalled the tough time his family went through, and admitted that he wished he’d got the diagnosis instead.

During an appearance on the Today Show, Michael said: “It sucked and it still sucks, because we went through what was THE worst possible thing that you could hear as a parent and maybe as a human being.”

“I’d much rather it’d have been me. I wished that many times, I wished that it happened to me.”

The 43-year-old held back tears as explained that her he and his wife Luisano Lopilato struggled to “survive and breathe”.

“More times than people could understand, some days we wished we didn’t wake up.”

He continued, “When we did, we felt the love of those people, we knew they were praying for us. We knew there was goodness out there – it gave us faith in humanity, to be really blunt. It was just massive.”

Two years after his diagnosis, Noah is said to be “doing well” following treatment.

Michael and Luisa are also parents to two-year-old Elias, and three-month-old Vida.

The couple tied the knot in March 2011, after they met on the set of Michael’s music video for Haven’t Met You Yet in 2009.
