Former Westlife star Kian Egan has revealed that Simon Cowell warned him off now wife Jodi Albert.
The Voice judge was with the X Factor judge – who was the record boss of Westlife – when he first set eyes on Jodi.
But Cowell, who also was the boss of Jodi’s band Girl Thing, told him to stay away from the then 15-year-old.
He said: “Jodi was only 15 when I met her and I was 19. We were backstage at a concert. She was in Girl Thing. She walked out of a tent and I was just like, ‘Wow who is that?’
“I was stood with Simon Cowell and he was like, “No, no, no, kiddo, she is not for you”. And for the first time in his life he was wrong!’
“We became very good friends for about four years and we got together when she was 19 and I was 23. We’ve been together 11 years now.”

However Cowell did eventually make up for his mistake by sending them a Louis Vuitton chest worth €60,000 when they married in 2009.
And speaking on Loose Women, Kian also admitted that they stay together by compromising.
He added: “I think every relationship is based on compromise more than anything else. It’s about two people coming together and compromising to making each other happy.”
