Voice of Ireland bosses have defended last night’s show – after parents stormed out in anger at raunchy scenes.
One mum walked out with their nine-year-old child after Danica Holland performed her version of Lady Gaga’s Do What You Want.
During her performance in Dublin’s The Helix, half-naked dancers simulated sex behind her – with Bressie comparing it to Basic Instinct.
But Voice of Ireland producer Larry Bass insisted the scenes were acceptable to go out on RTE One before the watershed.
He told the Mail: “It’s nothing more than you would see on Hollyoaks and that goes out at 7pm.
“If anything we are showcasing some amazingly talented dancers and hopefully they can inspire children around the country to take up dancing. I don’t think it was too racy – I mean we are not in the Fifties for God’s sake.”
