The ratings war continues! Brendan O'Connor and Ryan Tubridy line up A-list guests to continue ratings battle

The ratings war between Ryan Tubridy and Brendan O’Connor heats up as both shows line up stellar guests this weekend.

Goss.ie previously reported The Saturday Night Show beat The Late Late Show in the ratings for the first time ever last week with an audience 501,900 to the Late Late’s 499,600.

This Saturday, Brendan is keen to keep the ratings on top of his Friday night rival and will have politicians Mary O’Rourke and Marie Louis McDonnell reviewing 50 Shades of Grey.

Model Holly Carpenter and comedians Al Porter and Dave McSavage will also appear on the show to chat to the RTE star, according to the Sunday World.

Meanwhile, Ryan has also upped his game with this weeks guest list with Celebrity Big Brother runner-up Katie Hopkins making her third appearance in under a year this Friday along with rugby legend Ronan O’Gara.

The controversial star is known for riling guests up during her appearances.

Viewers will also be treated to some Valentine’s themed-fun as the Late Late have been seeking out single men and women around Ireland to take part in the special show.

Despite the brand new set and a new presenting style, Ryan has failed to match the increasing viewership The Saturday Night Show is now demanding.

More guests for Friday’s show are to be revealed as Ireland’s longest running chat show tries to compete with Brendan’s new ratings winner.
