Nicola Peltz Beckham has shared an emotional post after filing a lawsuit against a dog groomer after the death of her beloved pet.
Last month, the 29-year-old shared the news that her chihuahua Nala passed after visiting a dog groomer.
On Tuesday, TMZ reported the actress is taking legal action against the groomer who treated her beloved dog before she died.
Taking to Instagram, Nicola shared a heartbreaking picture of her and her husband Brooklyn Beckham burying Nala.
She wrote: “I am truly still in so much shock and pain over my baby Nala suddenly passing last month following what should have been a routine grooming session.”
“I posted the experience on my Instagram to bring awareness, and was heartbroken to hear the horrifying stories from so many others who have experienced the same tragedy.”
“I can’t bear it. I’m outraged to hear how common stories like Nala’s are.”
She continued: “We need to do better and change the laws to better protect fur babies and the loving owners who care for them. Our pets are our chosen family.”
“I’ve dedicated most of my life to saving dogs and I can’t in good conscious let this horrifying act happen to more families.”
“I will work for changes and laws to help make sure no one else ever has to experience this heartbreak.”
She added: “I will always use my voice to protect our innocent babies. Love, always, Nicola.”
According to TMZ, the actress has reportedly filed a lawsuit against HoundSpa, which claims they are responsible for the death of her chihuahua Nala.
The lawsuit blames dog groomer Jony Ceballos who Nicola has alleged has a history of “intentional and malicious abuse of dogs.”
She further alleged her dog Nala was left injured and in severe physical distress after a grooming appointment in HoundSpa’s mobile van.
The 29-year-old is reportedly taking further legal action against HoundSpa owner Deborah Gittleman for keeping Jony employed – despite reportedly having complaints made about his behaviour towards animals in the past.
Nicola said she is in emotional distress over the situation after she witnessed Nala’s death as she rushed her to the vet following the grooming appointment
TMZ further reported that her other dog Angel “shakes/screams from terror when left alone now” in the aftermath of the ordeal.
The actress took to Instagram last month to share the heartbreaking news that Nala had passed away.
She wrote: “This has been the hardest month of my life.”
“” can’t even find the words to describe my heartbreak on so many levels.”
“Nala was perfectly healthy when she went to the groomers yesterday but came out hyperventilating and couldn’t catch her breath.”
“We rushed her to the vet and she passed hours later. i’m sharing this in hopes that it might prevent this from happening to other dogs.”
“Her life was taken away from her way too soon. She was my beautiful queen and stayed by my side for 9 years through everything.”
“Please be careful who you send your dogs to because you don’t know what goes on behind closed doors.”
