Michael Fassbender to play serial killer

Michael Fassbender is set to play real-life serial killer Jack Unterweger.

The Oscar nominee is currently in negotiations to play the lead in Entering Hades, which is based on the 2007 true crime book of the same name by John Leake.

The film will follow the double life of Jack Unterweger, an Austrian journalist and author who investigated murders by day then killed by night – targeting prostitutes.

The journalist was first convicted of murder in 1976 and was released from prison in 1990 but soon started killing again.

The 43-year-old ultimately committed suicide following his conviction for a string of murders in 1994

According to Variety, the Steve Jobs star’s film company, DMC Film, will help develop the film adaptation alongside Storyscape Entertainment.
