Ireland AM presenter Mark Cagney has agreed to shave his hair off in support of Today FM’s Shave, Dye, Or Oh My! campaign, in aid of the Irish Cancer society.
Today FM DJ Louise Duffy has volunteered to do the honours and will be shaving Mark’s head live on air this Friday’s show.
“There isn’t a person in the country that hasn’t been affected by cancer,” Mark said.
“Like almost everyone, I’ve had a family member or friend who has gone through or is going through it. In fact, a long standing colleague of mine is battling cancer at the moment..

“This, for me, is an opportunity to play my part and raise awareness as well as money for the Irish Cancer Society
“At the end of the day, it’s only hair, and if it does just a little bit of good and encourage others to get involved, I’ll be very happy,” he added.
Meanwhile, Louise revealed she can’t wait to get the razor to Mark’s hair on Friday.
“We’re delighted that Mark is giving up his head for Shave or Dye or Oh My! This has been a huge campaign for Today FM and our listeners and we’re all in the fight against cancer together.”
