The first trailer for Jonathan Rhys Meyers new series Roots has been released.
Making it’s premiere on Memorial day on the History channel, the Tudors star plays Tom Lea an uneducated slave owner desperate to claw his way into the elite company of Southern gentility in the four episode miniseries.
The show boasts a stellar cast including Oscar winners Forest Whitaker and Anna Paquin as well as Academy nominees Laurence Fishburne, who plays Alex Haley, author of Roots: The Saga of an American Family.
