EXCLUSIVE! James Kavanagh reveals the biggest struggle he has faced setting up Currabinny

James Kavanagh caught up with Goss.ie to chat all things Currabinny at the launch of Virgin Media’s Summer Drive-In Movie series.

With his boyfriend, William Murray, the Snapchat star is gearing up to take Dublin’s food scene by storm when they open their cafe, Currabinny, this Autumn.

“The dream would be to have the book launch in the cafe,” he told Goss.ie, which gives the couple until October to find the right premises in the city centre, something they are struggling to do.

Their cookbook, of the same name, is already available to preorder and sees one of their longtime dreams realised.

The 29-year-old revealed that his numerical skills proved to be his biggest challenge setting up the business.

“I failed pass maths in my Leaving Cert right, and I had to do budgets and stuff like that, making the business plan and going to the bank and stuff, so that bit I find really difficult.”

He credited his mentor Blathnaid Bergin, who he points out is “Darina Allen’s sister,” with aiding him through those struggles.
