Eve Hewson has admitted she had to make her parents watch her in risque series The Knick.
The daughter of Bono and Ali Hewson, stars in the TV series alongside Hollywood star Clive Owen, whom she enjoys intimate scenes with.
“When I met the director Steven Soderbergh and Greg, who’s one of the producers, they said to me: ‘Just so you know, she’s going to go down the rabbit hole and your parents aren’t going to want to see this’.

“And I called my parents and said: ‘I got the part but you’re not going to be able to watch it.’ They were very excited.
“I made them watch it, I forced them to watch it. I wasn’t in the room though,” she explained.
“They watched every episode – my parents were funny about it but they were really supportive and my mom just kept saying to my sister: ‘She’s so good’.
“I think my dad had a few moments where he went ‘Agh’ [and had to cover his face] but they loved the show and they loved Steven’s work,” she told the LA Times.

“My dad was like, ‘I had no idea there was going to be so much about medicine and it’d be so interesting, it’s like Shakespeare’,” the young actress revealed.
“That’s what he said about the writing so yeah, they’re big fans,” she added.
Eve is in New York filming the second season of the Sky Atlantic show, and admitted the new season will be even harder to watch.
“It’s not a show that you should watch while you’re eating your dinner,” she said.

“I had lots of friends text or call me saying: ‘Oh my God, you should have warned me’. You have to make sure you have digested your food when you watch it,” she added.
Eve will be seen next in Bridge of Spies – a new movie starring Tom Hanks.
