After starring in Transformers 4, Jack Reynor is no stranger to a film franchise and is reportedly shortlisted for the role of Robin Hood in a new reboot of the movie.
It’s understood that Lionsgate are putting together a gritty and darker retelling of Robin Hood and have their eyes set on the Wicklow man for the lead role.
Peaky Blinders’ director Otto Bathurst will helm the film titled Robin Hood: Origins – which will follow the fall and rise of the English folk hero as he battles the Sheriff of Nottingham and works to free the people from tyranny.

According to Deadline.com Jack has already auditioned with the film-maker and is the current favourite to snag the part.
However, the Glassland actor is up against tough competition with Taron Egerton of Kingsman fame and Boardwalk Empire’s Jack Huston vying for the coveted role.
The project is set to begin in early 2016 with casting news to be announced soon.
