Colin Farrell has praised Lenny Abrahamson for his success with his latest film Room.
Room received four Oscar nominations this year, including Best Picture and for Best Director, and Colin believes that the film will most definitely take home an Academy Award as it is a ‘piece of art’.
Speaking at the annual Irish Film Board Party in LA, Colin told Goss.ie, “I thought Room was extraordinary, it’s such a unique piece of cinematic art.
On the topic of Lenny’s success as an Irish director going from small productions to blockbuster hits, Colin couldn’t praise Lenny enough.
“Lenny’s been just building himself up as a director from Adam & Paul to The Garage, and then What Richard Did and then Frank and now Room, its kind of like he’s been very methodical and very conscious in how he’s taken on bigger and bigger canvasses.
“He’s just extraordinary,” he gushed.

When asked if he’d work with the Oscar nominated director, he didn’t hesitate in saying yes and credited all of the Irish “homegrown” talent that is being recognised this year.
“Yeah, in a second! It’s amazing to see all these homegrown talents get this international recognition on the Oscars world stage, its mad,” he added.
