Wendy Williams breaks silence on Diddy arrest after she was criticised for speaking out

Wendy Williams has broken her silence in the wake of Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs’ arrest.

The 54-year-old was arrested on September 16th and charged with racketeering, sex trafficking by force, and transportation to engage in prostitution.

The musician appeared in a New York court the following day, where a federal judge remanded him in custody after prosecutors argued he was a “serious flight risk.”

Diddy

Throughout her career, Wendy has been openly critical of Diddy, so naturally, she was relieved to find out that he was being investigated.

The TV host told DailyMail.com exclusively: “What is really weird is that I have been told by so many people, ‘Wendy, you called it.'”

“Including some people from my family who have said the same.”

Diddy and ex Cassie

Speaking about the “horrific” footage of Diddy abusing then-girlfriend Cassie, she said: “You know how I feel about that? It is about time,”

“To see this video on TV of [Cassie] getting pummeled … it was just horrific.”

“But now you have to think, how many more times? How many people? How many more women? It’s just so horrible.”

Wendy Williams Show

Over the weekend, an uncomfortable interview with Diddy from a 2017 appearance on The Wendy Williams Show has resurfaced.

In the video, Williams and the controversial rapper discussed her 16-year-old son, Kevin Hunt Jr.

“And let me tell you something, as the mother of a now 16-year-old”, Wendy said before Diddy interrupted: “Mhm, who I met backstage, he’s a great young man.”

After swiftly thanking him for the remark, Diddy stared at Wendy as she seemed to stutter and space out.

Wendy Williams

Anyone who has followed Wendy and Diddy’s feud over the years knows that her decision to speak out about Diddy’s present legal battle is unsurprising.

The ups and downs between Wendy and Diddy started in the 1990s when the TV personality criticised him on her radio program Hot 97.

The TV host was fired from the program in 1998 and claimed Diddy was involved in her dismissal.

Wendy Williams

The TV personality is best known for hosting her long running chat show The Wendy Williams Show, which aired from 2008 – 2022.

Before the show concluded in 2022, Wendy addressed many trending subjects, including Diddy’s several name changes and his ups and downs with Cassie.

Diddy on Wendy Williams Show

In 2017, Diddy appeared on Wendy’s show, and the pair appeared to be civil.

“I know I piss off a lot of people, including you, but this is a full circle moment,” Wendy stated after Diddy gave her props for being one of the first female hip-hop journalists.

“Everybody get into adult conversation.”
