Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag sue city of Los Angeles after losing home in wildfires

Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag are suing Los Angeles after losing their home in the California wildfires.

The celebrity couple filed a lawsuit alongside more than 20 other residents and homeowners affected by the fires.

According to the complaint, the water problems that hindered firefighting efforts and ultimately caused damage to their houses were the fault of Los Angeles and its municipal water department.

Strong winds during one of the driest years on record caused the Eaton and Palisades fires, which destroyed over 12,000 buildings and claimed 28 lives.

The fires rank among the most destructive in Californian history due to the loss of lives and property.

Numerous lawsuits have been filed against the city and the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power due to the extreme attention around water hydrant running dry and water pressure issues during the recent California fires.

Spencer, 41, and Heidi, 38, were thankfully able to evacuate in time and got their family to safety as the fires spread to their neighbourhood.

The Hills stars share two sons together – Gunner, born in 2017, and Ryker, born in 2022.

TMZ reported that their house “burned to the ground”, and the couple are said to be “devastated” by the loss.

A host of celebrities have been forced to evacuate their homes in the area, and California Governor Gavin Newsom has declared a state of emergency.

Earlier this month, at least 30,000 people were ordered to evacuate their homes as the blaze spread from just 20 acres to more than 3,000 in a matter of hours.

The affluent neighbourhood, located on the west side of LA, is home to many famous faces including Tom Hanks, Reese Witherspoon, Adam Sandler, Steve Guttenberg and Michael Keaton.
